We are happy to introduce you to another member of our Fanatic Grom Team: Alexia Kiefer from Gran Canaria! Alexia is only 13 years old and already throwing Forwards. This season she won the PWA Junior contests on Gran Canaria and Tenerife and is the PWA Vice World Champ Under 16 & 17. Next stop will be the PWA Youth contest in Almerimar – watch her going!
At what age did you start Windsurfing?
I started windsurfing with 9 years. My dad is a dedicated windsurfer and we always came to the beach with him when we were kids to watch him, so I could not wait to be old enough to finally try myself.
Who/what did that inspire you to start Windsurfing?
My dad. He even moved from Germany to Gran Canaria so he could be more on the water. He always had such a passion for that sport that me and my brother basically had no chance to do it ourselves. And it was really great once we could all go on the water together.
How do you reconcile school and Windsurfing?
Unfortunately I can windsurf only on the weekends as during the week I have to concentrate on school. But on the weekends and during holidays I am on the water as much as I can!
Do you have other passions besides Windsurfing?
SUPing and Surfing! I like to spent as much time as possible in the waves.
Who are your idols in Windsurfing?
Sarah Quita Offringa and Adam Lewis! They both have a perfect style and personality!
Which moves are you working on?
Stalled Forward, Taka, Table Top
